Mr. C’s Hotel – Beverly Hills, CA
Mr. C’s in Beverly Hills, CA. is a boutique hotel that opened in June, 2011 for the Cipriani Family. With an established history at Pacificraft CWD, I was contracted to act on their behalf as an Independent, Senior Project and Operations Manager for this millwork renovation.

In early summer 2010, I was asked to join the design team to collaborate with AEC of the RMS Group in Westminster, CA. and Gensler Architects in Santa Monica, CA. Together, we were to complete the millwork design, finishing details and engineering that would bring us to the finished interior.
The materials were exotic – over 8,000 square feet of quartered Bolivian santos rosewood veneer and rosewood hardwood were required for the project. Quartered white oak hardwood entrance and interior door frames with transoms were included in our scope. Two lobbies, a registration desk and office, a library, a sunken bar in the lobby, a restaurant with a traditional family bar, and a banquet room were all contracted for this project.
There are chrome finishes throughout the millwork which were custom fabricated from brass to a high polished “car-guy” chrome finish. Fine cloth materials were used for wall paneling in the restaurant, along with many paint-grade moldings and trim details for the ceilings and walls throughout the project.
A perfect mix of color, wood, metal and texture were incorporated to give this hotel a unique feel and overall warmth. The collaboration and coordination between Marcello Pozzi, Felicé Tedeshi and myself went very smoothly, despite the fact that most of the time there was a continent or an ocean between us. Finally, as can be attested to by your own visit to the hotel, the production and installation by Pacificraft CWD, overseen by Vice President Ramiro Silva, was near flawless.

Enough said, as we all know “a picture’s worth a thousand words”. I have included a handful of photos, with a few notes, for you to view this project. For Los Angeles natives, I’d encourage you to take a trip yourself to touch the wood, feel the texture, and see the natural beauty.
“I want to thank everyone who had a hand in the success of this project, including all of the tradesmen and craftsmen with whom we worked side-by-side with to accomplish this monumental task together. Thank you.”

- The Entrance – One of seven complete entranceways and interior passageways. Built with quartered white oak, custom color stain, and exterior satin finish.
- The Lobby Lounge – The millwork package with the warmth of the rosewood is all around you as you pass through the building.

- The Clock – A similar clock has been a part of the Cipriani family tradition since 1931 when Harry’s Bar first opened in Venice, Italy. The clock features the one piece of solid white rock maple within the entire project, integrated beautifully with the same santos rosewood hardwood used everywhere else. Note the attention to detail, chromed numerals, and curved hands on a domed face.
